166 MM

The 166 MM Barchetta was officially introduced at the Turin salon in 1948. Barchetta, in Italian, means little boat while ‘MM’ comes from one of the world’s most famous road races, the Mille Miglia, in which the Maranello cars were to triumph again and again. Weight and wind-resistance were kept to a minimum, and any unnecessary equipment or decoration was sacrificed to performance. Typically handmade in aluminum on a tubular frame, the classic Barchetta body is devoid of bumpers or weather equipment such as canvas tops or sidescreens. Less than 50 cars were made until 1953 and top speed was 220 km/h. Now you can own one in 1:18 scale. Don’t miss it!
