LAMBORGHINI MIURA CONCEPT

The Lamborghini Miura Concept is a retro-styled car, penned by the head of Lamborghini design, Walter De’Silva in celebration of the 40 anniversary of the original 1966 Miura.

The original Miura produced between 1966 and 1972 is widely considered to have begun the trend of high performance, two-seater, mid-engined sports cars. It was the first road sports car to feature the mid engined layout, successfully used in racing cars such as the Ferrari 250 LM and Ford GT40.

The original Miura boasts a very smooth design with extremely pure lines. The redesign of the car is absolutely faithful to the original form by refining the contours and eliminating any superfluous detail, in order to enhance the clean, simple lines and perfectly balanced proportions that so impassioned enthusiasts.

Although there were several versions of Miura produced, the Miura concept will not return the Miura to production. “The Miura was a celebration of our history, but Lamborghini is about the future”, said Stefan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s president.
